Project Brief Description

​​Reefive is a non-profit organization whose mission and business model revolves around the restoration and protection of coral reef populations worldwide. Reefive intends to create value for all of humanity, and the marine life whose survival highly depends on the revitalization of coral reef ecosystems.

In the past 30 years, billions of the Earth’s coral reefs ecosystems have suffered large-scale bleaching events brought on by climate change and direct human activity. Approximately 330 million people globally live within 30km of coral reef ecosystems and 10km within the coastline, which suggests there is an essential humanitarian stake in the ecosystems’ well-being. That being said, Reefive aims to prevent further endangerment of such coral species, by rejuvenating an ecosystem that “provide society with resources and services worth $375 billion per year.”
